The X-Trainer is Compass's all-rounder — designed to do everything a family pool needs to do, without compromise. An unobstructed swimming corridor down the middle means real laps are practical, a full-length safety ledge along one side gives kids a place to rest and adults a place to sit, and the shallow-to-deep floor works for toddlers through to serious swimmers.
It's our most-quoted pool shape in Central Queensland. The 7.2 and 8.2 sizes are the CQ sweet spot — big enough to swim in, small enough to fit most established Rockhampton and Yeppoon blocks. For tighter blocks, the SL (Slimline) variants at 5.8 (2.7m wide), 7.15 (3.0m wide) and 8.2 (3.0m wide) preserve the pool character in a narrower footprint. For lifestyle acreage, the 10.2 and 11.8 give you proper lap distances.

The X-Trainer in Central Queensland
Across the last few years, X-Trainer 7.2 and 8.2 sizes have been our two most-quoted pool shapes in the Rockhampton region. The 7.2 fits the vast majority of established Rocky suburban blocks — Berserker, Wandal, Depot Hill, older Norman Gardens — with room for landscaping. The 8.2 is where lifestyle blocks and newer Yeppoon estates end up, once we’ve worked out access.
The 5.8 SL (straight-line variant) has quietly become popular for tight character blocks in Frenchville and inner Rockhampton. The narrower footprint makes crane access much easier on those sites without giving up much internal pool geometry.
Common questions on the X-Trainer specifically: whether the beach entry works in CQ (yes, especially for kids under 8 and for setting up shade in the water), and whether the sports well is deep enough for cannonballs (yes — 1.75m on the 8.2, 1.85m on the 10.2). Both come up on almost every X-Trainer site visit.

Unobstructed Swimming Corridor
The main body of the pool has no step tray or bench intruding into the swim path — end-to-end you get the full length to swim laps or play.
Safety Features for Kids
A full-length safety ledge along one side gives children a place to rest, adults a place to supervise from, and adds a natural safety feature.
Shallow-to-Deep Floor
The floor slopes from around 1.07–1.11m at the shallow end to 1.52–1.93m at the deep end depending on size. Safe for children, deep enough for adults.

What sizes does the X-Trainer come in?

How deep is the X-Trainer?
Variable-depth floor. Shallow end starts at 1.07–1.11m depending on size, sloping to between 1.52m (5.8) and 1.93m (10.2 and 11.8) at the deep end.
What are the SL variants?
SL stands for Slimline — the same X-Trainer character in a narrower footprint. 8.2 SL and 7.15 SL are both 3.0m wide (down from 4.2m and 3.7m standard). The 5.8 SL is 2.7m wide (down from 3.0m). Popular for older Rockhampton character blocks and modern estates with tight side setbacks.
Is the X-Trainer good for small backyards?
