Express Pools
Fast-tracked. Freestanding. Full Compass quality.
A smarter alternative to container pools — pre-fabricated Compass fibreglass pools that arrive ready to place, install in a fraction of the time, and work on backyards where a normal in-ground pool can't. Five sub-ranges to choose from: Relax Express, Plunge Express, Refresh Express, X-Trainer Spa Express, and Lap Pool Express 10m.
What makes the Express Pools different
Compass Express pools are similar to a container pool — only smarter. Thanks to super-tough full-fibreglass construction, the structure isn't supported by steel or timber, so there's no risk of rust or rot down the track. Much like a swim-spa, these freestanding pools come ready to place in your backyard, but they're a real fibreglass pool, just like the ones you see in the ground.
With minimal site works required, Express pools are a great-looking above-ground (or partially in-ground) solution for anyone who wants a cost-effective pool without compromising on quality — ideal for smaller backyards or sites with difficult access. Available in the full Compass colour range (all 9 Bi-Luminite 3D and 5 Vivid finishes) and every model can be fully decked around or clad to match your home.
“Express pools are what we recommend when a normal in-ground install won't work — tight access, sloping block, temporary rental, or a fast-turnaround project. Same shell quality, same warranty, delivered in days.”
— Trent and the Gen2 Pools team
Compass Express Pools are pre-configured Plunge and Relax shapes designed for faster factory turnaround and streamlined installation. Fixed shape options, standard equipment package, less design consultation — the right choice when you want a Compass pool in the ground sooner and you’re happy with the standard configuration.
What “Express” actually means
Same premium ceramic-composite shell technology as every Compass pool. Same 25-year structural warranty. Same Bi-Luminite and Vivid colour options. What’s different is the process: pre-configured shapes go straight to the factory production queue without a customisation pass, standard equipment (pump, filter, chlorinator, lighting) is packaged as one unit, and paperwork is streamlined. The result is faster from signed contract to swimming.
Shapes available
The Express range draws from the Plunge and Relax sub-ranges — the compact end of the Compass catalogue. Perfect for smaller blocks, holiday-let properties, courtyard installs, and downsizer projects where you don’t need the full-family-pool footprint.
Who Express suits
- Holiday-let and rental-property owners — get the pool operational for the next season without waiting through a full custom timeline.
- Small blocks and townhouses — the compact Express shapes fit constrained yards that don’t need customisation.
- First-time pool owners on a budget — the streamlined equipment package is cost-effective without cutting quality.
- Cooling-off pools — Central Queensland climate, hot summer, plunge pool for cooling — Express delivers exactly that.
What you don’t get with Express
The upgrade options that make sense at the family-pool scale don’t all apply here: Vantage self-cleaning isn’t offered on the smallest Express shells (physically doesn’t have space for the nozzle count), and spa combos aren’t part of the Express range. If you want either, look at the full custom Compass shapes.

Relax Express
Big beach zone, small footprint
The Relax Express features generous entry steps and a wide beach zone at one end — a shallow, flat area that's perfect for kids to play, adults to sit and soak, or a spot for loungers half-in the water. The rest of the pool gives you room to swim, float or cool off. Ideal for smaller Central Queensland backyards where you want to entertain as much as swim.

Express Pools — questions answered
What Central Queensland pool buyers most commonly ask us about Express Pools.
What is a Compass Express pool?
An Express pool is a freestanding, pre-fabricated fibreglass pool that arrives ready to place in your backyard. It's a real fibreglass pool — not a container pool — built from super-tough full-fibreglass construction with no steel or timber frame, so there's no risk of rust or rot.
How is an Express pool different to a normal fibreglass pool?
A standard fibreglass pool is installed fully in-ground. Express pools are freestanding — they can sit above ground or partially in-ground (up to 600mm) — and come "nude" so you can deck around them or clad the exterior to suit your design. They're ideal for smaller backyards or sites with difficult access.
How quickly can an Express pool be installed?
Very quickly. Express pools arrive pre-plumbed and, with minimal site works, you could be swimming on delivery day. Because decking bearers bolt directly to the pool's support structure, surrounds go up faster too.
Are Express pools good for small backyards or tricky access?
Yes — that's exactly what they're designed for. Their lightweight fibreglass structure is easier and more cost-effective to transport and crane into place than a container pool, making them a great solution for compact or hard-to-reach Central Queensland sites.
Can I choose the colour and finish?
Absolutely. Express pools come in the full Compass colour range — the 9 Bi-Luminite 3D shimmer colours and the 5 vibrant Vivid finishes — and because they come nude you can fully deck around them or clad the exterior in the finish of your choice.
How much does an Express pool cost in Central Queensland?
Express pools are one of the more cost-effective ways into pool ownership, thanks to reduced site works and faster installation. The final figure depends on the size, your site and the surrounds you choose — we'll give you a free, written quote after a site visit.
Which Express sub-range suits daily swimmers?
The Lap Pool Express 10m. It's the only Express model with dedicated swim length (10 metres) and a narrow 2.5m footprint that fits alongside a home. All other Express ranges are cool-off and family pools rather than lap-swim shapes.
Can Express pools be fitted with Vantage self-cleaning?
Yes — every Express model can be specified with Vantage self-cleaning at build time. It's slightly less common on Express installs because many customers choose Express for the fast-turnaround factor and add a simpler filtration system, but the option is there.
