Trent put our magnesium self cleaning pool in 3 years ago. Did a fantastic job. Just had our first swim after winter. Beautiful. He is so helpful and knows his shit. Great guy and after sales service and advice is fantastic. Still looks like the pool was put in yesterday. ❤️

His ideas & advice helped us choose the perfect pool for the space we had available. The entire install process was stress free & the team's dedication to their work, even in the extreme heatwaves we had at the time, was very impressive. We were kept well informed along the way, with every step of the install being met as promised. We chose a self cleaning system for our pool and it had surpassed our expectations. We're extremely happy with how it works (and how we don't have to) to keep our pool constantly clean.
Was worth the wait so happy with my beautiful pool from Gen2 pools, Trent and the whole team were professional from day one. With updates though out the months of it arriving. I can't recommend Trent and his team enough, from the first contact Trent was quick to respond, helpful and professional throughout the entire job. We had a Vogue 10.2m installed, at Trent's advice we chose to include the self cleaning system and I cannot recommend this enough! We live on acreage and the pool is surrounded by trees, there is always leaf litter on the surrounding concrete but the pool is ALWAYS spotless, it truly is amazing and well worth the money. We've had pools on acreage before so looking at our spotless pool puts a smile on my face every time, no more robots or leaf scoops. The pool was complete before the promised schedule and looks amazing. I have recommended Trent to friends and will continue to do so, very happy customers.
If you are thinking of installing a pool, Trent and his team are the people you need to call. From the initial consultation, the installation, to the follow up services, everything has been done in an informative and punctual manner. The team work as a well oiled machine and everything was delivered as and when promised. Any messages, phone calls and emails were promptly answered with honest and sound advice given. It has been one of the easiest projects to organise around our house.

Would highly recommend Trent from Gen 2 pools and his team who have exceptional attention to detail and passion. (Honourable mention to Cam, (sorry I missed the other lads names) Your workmanship is second to none). From the get go Trent marked out everything in the yard so we could see what would best suite our yard. Recommended the infloor cleaning and wow it’s impressive. Once install was done water was murky as to be expected but once those filters and pumps went on… the infloor system went to work and less than 24 hrs it was exceptionally clear. How about that water feature… unreal. When ever we had a question Trent would respond within minutes of sending a text / calls. Thanks again Gen 2 Pools.
I was told by a friend that had 2x pools fitted by gen2 to have a chat with Trent, from there every single step was exactly what they said it would be. I have never had a pool installed before and was pleasantly surprised on how easy the whole process was. I would only recommend Gen2 Pools to anyone looking at getting a pool installed. A pool is one of the biggest purchases most families make for their home, and the builder you choose matters as much as the pool itself. Here’s how to read pool builder reviews properly, what to ask before you sign, and why a well-reviewed local builder is the safer choice in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone and Biloela.
01How to choose the best pool builder in Central Queensland
Most pool shells look similar on a brochure. What separates a good pool from a problem pool is the installation — the excavation, base, plumbing, backfill, and how the job is managed from first visit to handover. These are the things worth checking before you commit:
- A current QBCC licence Pool construction in Queensland is licensed building work. Ask for the builder’s QBCC licence number and check it on the QBCC online register — it takes two minutes.
- Local ground experience Reactive clay, black soil, rock and high water tables are all common across Central Queensland. Ask how the builder handles your soil type and whether they soil-test before quoting footings and backfill.
- An authorised manufacturer dealer Buying through an authorised dealer means the manufacturer’s warranty is properly registered and backed. Ask who the shell manufacturer is and what the structural warranty covers.
- A site visit before the quote A quote given without anyone looking at your block can’t account for access, slope, setbacks or services. Expect someone to walk the site.
- A written, itemised quote You should be able to see what’s included — shell, excavation, crane, plumbing, filtration, approvals — and what isn’t, such as fencing, paving or landscaping.
- Who actually does the work Ask whether the builder’s own crew installs the pool or whether it’s subcontracted, and who your point of contact is during the build.
- Approvals and certification Check who arranges building approval, the pool safety certificate and fencing compliance, and whether that’s included in the price.
- Aftercare Ask what happens after handover — water balancing, equipment questions, and warranty callbacks — and how far the builder will travel to look after you.
02What pool builder reviews actually tell you
Star ratings are a useful starting point, but the detail inside the reviews tells you far more. When you’re comparing pool builders, look for:
- Recency Reviews from the last year or two reflect how the business operates now — the same crew, the same processes.
- Detail about the process The most useful reviews mention timelines, communication, how problems were handled and how the site was left — not just “great pool”.
- Volume as well as average A high rating across many reviews is more meaningful than a perfect score from a handful.
- Reviews from your area A builder with happy customers near you has dealt with the same councils, certifiers and ground conditions you will.
- Consistency across platforms Compare Google reviews with testimonials on the builder’s website and what people in your street say.
