The Compass warranty package has three separate layers, each covering a specific failure mode. Structural (25 years) covers cracking, delamination, and any failure of the ceramic-cored shell itself — enabled by the ceramic composite core layer. Hydrostatic (life of pool) covers pool pop-out during groundwater events — backed by the HydroPro valve system standard on every shell. Cosmetic (10 years) covers blistering, fading, and delamination of the Bi-Luminite or Vivid gelcoat finish — a real 10 years, backed by UV-formulated gelcoats designed specifically for Australian conditions. On top of Compass's warranty, Gen2 Pools carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee on our own installation work — plumbing, electrical, backfill, coping.

What exactly does the 25-year structural warranty cover?
Cracking, delamination, and any failure of the shell itself — the ceramic-cored fibreglass structure. Standard exclusions apply (misuse, unauthorised modification, ground disturbance we didn't engineer for). Full document available on quote.
How does warranty transfer at property sale?
You provide the warranty documents to the new owner at settlement — a normal part of a property sale where a pool exists. The warranty runs from original install date, not from ownership transfer date.
What's the difference between structural and cosmetic warranty?
Structural is the shell itself — cracks, delamination, failure. Cosmetic is the gelcoat finish — blistering, fading, colour degradation. Both matter, but structural is the one that stops a pool from being a pool.
Does the warranty cover Vantage self-cleaning?
Compass warrants the Vantage nozzle system separately as part of the shell — because the nozzles are built into the shell at manufacture, they're covered under the structural warranty for the full 25 years.
What does Gen2's 12-month workmanship cover?
Our own installation work — plumbing runs, electrical connections, backfill, coping installation, initial water balance. Anything we did on your site is covered for 12 months. Anything Compass built at the factory is covered by Compass for 25 years.
How do I compare warranty when getting multiple quotes?
Ask each builder: what does the shell warranty specifically cover (structural / hydrostatic / cosmetic)? How long is each layer? Does it transfer on sale? Is it with the manufacturer or the installer? Read the actual warranty document, not the sales-brochure summary. The exclusions are where the differences live.
Is the 25-year structural warranty transferable?
Yes — the Compass structural warranty stays with the pool, so if you sell the property the new owners inherit the remaining warranty period. That's meaningful resale value on a $60-100k pool.
What voids the warranty?
Non-Compass-approved chemical use, structural modifications, or improper draining (draining an in-ground fibreglass pool without engineering supervision can crack the shell from soil pressure). Normal use, standard chlorine/salt sanitisation, and standard maintenance don't affect the warranty.
